Our Story

Established With Purpose

Meridian Counsel was established by a group of commercial lawyers who shared a common view: that legal advice in Malaysia's corporate and commercial sector should be both technically sound and genuinely accessible to the clients who need it. That meant fewer assumptions, more conversation, and a willingness to explain the reasoning behind every recommendation.

The firm operates from an office on Jalan Raja Chulan in the heart of Kuala Lumpur's professional district. From here, we serve businesses in formation, companies navigating contractual complexity, and individuals or organisations who find themselves facing a commercial dispute and need a clear understanding of where they stand.

We do not specialise in high-volume transactional work. Our focus is on engagements where careful thought is warranted — where the client benefits from a qualified legal perspective delivered in plain terms, and where the scope of work is clear from the outset.

Our Mission

"To provide considered, transparent legal counsel that helps our clients make informed decisions with confidence."

Integrity in every engagement

We give our honest assessment, even when it is not what a client hoped to hear.

Clarity over complexity

Legal processes are explained in language that matches the client's level of familiarity.

Respect for the client's time

We maintain structured timelines and provide regular progress updates without being prompted.

Commercial Legal Counsel in Kuala Lumpur

Meridian Counsel serves businesses at various stages of development — from founders working through the formalities of establishing a company in Malaysia, to established commercial entities that require careful legal review of their agreements or guidance on handling a contractual disagreement.

Our practice operates within a well-defined scope. We are not a large general-purpose firm. What we offer is attentive, qualified legal work on the matters we know well: corporate formation and structuring under Malaysian law, the review and drafting of commercial contracts, and advisory consultation for clients navigating disputes. This focus allows us to bring genuine depth of knowledge to each engagement rather than allocating it across an overly broad range of practice areas.

Businesses in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and across Peninsular Malaysia are welcome to contact us for an initial discussion. Many client relationships begin with a straightforward question — and we are happy to assist in working through it before any formal engagement is agreed.
